About Melissa Ek (that's "eek!")

Melissa Ek owns ekMEDIA, and she’s driven by great design, color, and things that “pop.” Never one to dawdle, you’ll find she always delivers on time, on budget, and nails the essence of design quickly.

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Melissa came to Austin in 2000 to experience the energy, culture and diversity of this vibrant city, and she has never looked back.

A designer since 1994, she started by creating advertising layouts for a Virginia Beach-based tourist magazine, and has continued to hone her design and computer skills since then. A gifted freehand illustrator, her childhood dream is to write and illustrate children’s books.

When not working, you’ll find her walking around Town Lake with Zeke, her yellow lab, or hanging out with her friends – many of whom are former (and current) clients!
